Background

Part of the AGS Group, Southampton Airport serves the surrounding areas of Hampshire and handles approximately 2 million passengers annually. With seven airlines offering flights to over 15 destinations, it stands out as a more convenient alternative to larger nearby airports. Retaining their existing logo, I was asked to develop a brand world that would captivate and inspire new customers, while highlighting the key benefits of flying from Southampton—namely, its ease, accessibility, and customer-centric service.



The Solution

Drawing inspiration from flight paths and plane contrails, I designed a flexible visual device that runs seamlessly across all brand touchpoints, from campaigns to retail and functional applications. The flight paths dynamically interact with imagery and typography, creating a sense of energy, excitement, and effortless movement. This design element not only adds visual interest but also evokes the feeling of smooth, hassle-free travel.

Additionally, I curated a collection of authentic, emotive photography that feels natural and unposed, capturing the genuine moments of joy and anticipation that come with travel. The images aim to resonate with customers by reflecting those treasured holiday memories. To further enhance the sense of warmth and optimism, I employed a vibrant colour palette, subtly hinting at sunnier, happier times, reinforcing the positive experience of flying from Southampton.
