Background

As part of our pitch brief for ScotRail, the goal was to boost train ticket sales by increasing day trips to Edinburgh and Glasgow. This involved both attracting new rail users and encouraging existing customers to make more frequent journeys.



The Work

Our audience believed they already knew Glasgow and Edinburgh, assuming there was nothing new to discover, or simply didn’t consider them at all when planning their leisure time.

To challenge this perception, we set out to disrupt their thinking with fresh, inspiring ideas—capturing their attention and motivating them to rediscover these two world-class cities as exciting day trip destinations.

Collaborating with an art director, I developed a bespoke illustration style designed to showcase the hidden gems of both cities, infused with a touch of humour. The approach aimed to present these discoveries in a visually engaging way, sparking curiosity and encouraging the audience to explore further.
